Wow, that's a BIG question for just three little words. In fact, it's such a hugenormous question, that this entire wiki, nee, this entire Quorlan Project is an overarching attempt to answer just that very question.

But, since you've gone to the trouble to type this very question, instead of referring you to the entirety of the projects various online resources (e.g. The Quorlan Project homepage, The Quorlan Chronicles, this wiki, the Quorlan Project Forums, and even our online Shoppe), we'll give you a quick, simple answer and a few links to get you started.

So here goes.

Quorlan began his existence as a first level magic user in a Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set adventure sometime in the early 1980's. His original name was not Quorlan, that came later. Whatever his original name was, it was so long and so many worlds ago, that no one remembers it, including Quorlan himself. From there, the character grew and moved on to the Expert Set rules and accompanying adventures. Before long, the transition had been made beyond the basic and expert rules and on to Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. It's unclear exactly when his took the name Quorlan, but it was sometime during his days within the realms of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.

From there, Quorlan when on to exist within a number of AD&D campaigns. He also became a character in such computer and online games as Ultima Online, World of Warcraft, and City of Heroes, among others.

Hope that's enough to get you started. These days, Quorlan is a prominent figure in a number of fantasy-based fictional environments ranging from books and stories to role playing games and trading card games. A good place to start learning more is on the front page of this wiki.
