Quorlan was a rather reknowned mage and diplomat on the Atlantic server of Ultima Online. He spent his years within the realms of Britannia achieving mastery over that world's unique forms of magic until he had achieved a deep knowledge of literally all known magic within the realm. Once his mastery of Britannian magic was complete and without rival, Quorlan began to delve into the deeper mysteries of the realm and create his own magics, heretofore completely without rival within the realm.

While living in the world of Britannia, Quorlan owned several different structures which he called home at various times. However, when the mysterious realm of Malas was discovered, he staked a claim to a large plot of land there and built a castle/keep for himself which was named Shadowmoor and was commonly praised as one of the largest, well designed character-owned structures within the realm. Prior to living at Shadowmoor, Quorlan was a resident of a land called Wilmeth and acted as that territories Ambassador to other realms. It was here where Quorlan first became a part of a large community and actively participated within that community on a constant basis for many years. To his friends and acquaintances he became known simply as "Q". However, when Wilmeth's government was infiltrated by greed for both power and money and the leadership descended into chaos and constant infighting, Quorlan departed the home he had once loved and began to build the Keep at Shadowmoor.
